Making progress

Finally I remembered to take some photos of these works in progress. Both have temporarliy stalled out while I frantically try to spin some yarn to take with me next week on the river. I wanted to have a small project to take...like socks. So of course it needed to be handspun. Did I really need to add this to my list of thing I needed to get done before I leave? No not really. I stayed up until midnight frantically plying the sock yarn so hopefully I can dye it tonight.

The agony.

Oh if only I could remember to take pictures at night you would see that I'm knee deep in two sweater projects. I promised myself this wouldn't happen. I promised myself I would only undertake one project at a time....especially big projects. I promised myself, when I bought the yarn for the lace leaf sweater two days ago, that I would not start until I finished Ryan's sweater. Oh how things can change in a moment of weakness.

Last night I convinced myself that I better stop Ryan's sweater until he gets home so he can give his blessing. Um yea. That's what I told myself. Or maybe I said I better stop Ryan's sweater so he can tell me how long he wants it to be since I was getting close to the bottom edge. Whatever I told myself, I started the lace leaf sweater last night. I couldn't stop. I knit on it until midnight and had to tear myself away to bed. Bad girl.

First piercing

Here we are at the mall yesterday with Debi who was getting her ears pierced for the first time. Debi provided amusment for a couple of 8 year olds who both had their ears double pierced and couldn't believe Debi had never had hears pierced. They reassured Debi that getting your ears pierced doesn't hurt at all...then one of them slipped and admitted that yes maybe it did hurt a little bit but not very much. I swear.

Advances in yarn spinning

Well I found myself alone for most of Fourth of July weekend which means I had lots of time for projects. I spun all this yarn that weekend and was pleasantly surpised with the results. I think these look alot better than anything I've ever spun and I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing different. Maybe the new wheel is making a difference.
